New functionalities within CDI-Marine regarding comments to ObservationsFor the attention of all CDI Marine Ship Operators, Chemical Company Participants and Stakeholders
- Please cascade this information within your companies and with your own stakeholders From the 1st August 2025 the following new functionalities will be available within CDI-Marine regarding comments to Observations 1. CDI-Marine: Upload documents direct to any Ship Inspection Report Observation From the 1st August 2025, Ship Operators will be able to upload multiple documents with a paperclip button as part of the ship operator comments to any raised observation. Various file types will be supported such as .PDF, .JPG, DOCX. .XLSX etc. This option will only be available to the ship operators in the 14-day exclusive window to add comments. During this period the ship operator can add (and/or remove) documents to any raised observation. In other words, the ship operator can only add documents to questions with a No answer and inspector’s observations. • After the 14-day period, it will not be allowed anymore to add or remove documents. This option is available to the ship operators in the 14-day exclusive window to add comments. • After the 14-day period, it will not be allowed to remove or make changes to these existing initial comments and initial uploaded documents, these comments and uploaded documents are locked for editing. These initial comments will be labelled as “Initial comments”: View and download documents The Ship Operator and the Chemical Company Participants, who have purchased the report, will be able to view the corresponding documents uploaded to the observations via hyperlinks to the documents. • In the downloaded PDF file of a SIR report the names of the documents will be listed next to the printed observations. • In addition, Ship Operators and Chemical Company Participants, will be able to download all documents in one go for the SIR in a zip file. • The names of the downloaded documents will include a reference to the corresponding report and question numbers. 2. NOTE: Phase out “Ship File” and “Ship Documents” options The new ‘add documents to ship operator comments’ facility will replace the existing “Ship File” and “Ship Documents” options. • The Ship File and Ship Documents options will remain temporarily available for the existing active reports, only in a read-only state. • Users can still access these sections, but the ship operators will not be able to add and/or remove content anymore. • After archive of a SIR report, the Ship File and Ship Documents option will be removed for that ship. • After max. 1 year (time period a SIR remains active) these options will not exist anymore in the database for all ships. 3. Introduction of NEW “Subsequent Comments/Documents” Function CDI has received constructive feedback in regards to the planned phasing out of the CDI Marine Ship File and Ship Document file. Having listened to this feedback and taking it into account, CDI has put in place the following NEW functions to enable ship operators to be able to add “subsequent comments” to a Ship Inspection Report (SIR) after the report is released to active status, (This is in addition to the “Initial Comments” before the SIR is released). • After the inspection report becomes active and as long as the report stays active, the ship operator will have the option to add subsequent comments and upload additional documents to any raised observation and to the general remarks in every section. • The subsequent comments/documents will be date stamped in the report and this date will be displayed in the report. These comments will be labelled as “Subsequent comments”, followed by the date stamp. • Subsequent comments and uploaded documents are locked for editing for the ship operator once uploaded to the database. The ship operator can add multiple subsequent comments and attachment during the validity of the report. • The initial and subsequent comments and all document names will be displayed in the printed / PDF version of the inspection report: • In addition, the initial and subsequent comments and all document names will be displayed in the Excel output of the inspection report: • The ship operators and chemical company members will be able to download all attached documents in the View Inspection Report screen in one go in a Zip file: • The names of the downloaded documents will include a reference to the corresponding report number and question number, including the initial document name: • When subsequent comments or documents have been added to the inspection report, this will be visualised in the list of ships and reports with a Note symbol icon and the date of the last subsequent comments: • In the Ships and Report page the option will be added to filter on inspection reports where ship operators have added subsequent comments since a specific date: • In the Ship Details page the date of the last subsequent comments will be displayed: |
